Summer Feel Today, Isol. T’Shower Then Cooler For Easter In South-Central PA
Highs will reach the low to mid 80s today! A cold front moving in from the west may trigger isolated showers and thunderstorms. No severe weather is expected at this time and most areas will stay dry.
AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE’RE KEEPING AN EYE OUT FOR TODAY, IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SUMMER FEEL. THE TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO SOAR INTO THE 80S. I AM TRACKING ISOLATED SHOWERS OR THUNDERSHOWERS. MOST EVERYBODY WILL STAY DRY, BUT WE COULD SEE A COUPLE JUST BECAUSE OF AN INCOMING COLD FRONT. NOW THAT FRONT WILL BRING COOLER, MORE SEASONABLE CONDITIONS FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEKEND AND FOR EASTER. BUT STILL NOT GOING TO FEEL TOO BAD. IT’S GOING TO BE A DECENT SECOND HALF TO THE WEEKEND. TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE BACK IN THE UPPER 60S NEXT WEEK. WE HAVE MORE 70 DEGREE DAYS THAT WE CAN LOOK FORWARD TO, AND IT LOOKS LIKE SOME DRY DAYS AS WELL. FORECAST FOR TODAY. AS WE TAKE A LOOK AROUND THE AREA. YOU CAN SEE 85 FOR CHAMBERSBURG, 84 FOR GETTYSBURG, LANCASTER IN THE LOW 80S, LEBANON HARRISBURG, CARLISLE ALL IN THE LOW TO MID 80S. SO A REALLY NICE LOOKING DAY. DESPITE THE CLOUD COVER. NOW AS WE GET INTO THE AFTERNOON, THAT’S WHEN I ANTICIPATE THAT ISOLATED SHOWER OR THUNDERSHOWER THREAT. AND WE MAY EVEN SEE A LITTLE MORE SUNSHINE AS WE GO THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT THIS TEMPERATURE TREND. WE HAVE 80 TODAY. WE DROP TO THE 60S TOMORROW AND MONDAY, BUT THEN WE HEAD BACK UP INTO THE 70S. AND BY FRIDAY OUR AVERAGE HIGH IS 68. AND WE’RE STILL LOOKING AT ABOVE AVERAGE READINGS. SO NO COOL TEMPERATURES OR COOLER THAN AVERAGE TEMPERATURES FOR THE WEEK AS OF RIGHT NOW. NOW WE ARE IN THE WARM SECTOR. THE WARM FRONT IS TO OUR NORTH, SO WE’RE WATCHING THIS COLD FRONT THAT’S OFF TO THE WEST. THAT’S WHAT’S GOING TO COME IN LATER TODAY INTO THE EVENING HOURS AND COULD TRIGGER THAT SHOWER AND THUNDERSHOWER CHANCE. THERE ARE SOME WARNINGS HERE. SEVERE WEATHER BREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW. BUT THIS FRONT WEAKENS. MOST OF THE DYNAMICS ARE WELL TO OUR NORTH. THERE’S A LITTLE ENERGY IN THE UPPER LEVELS AND SOME STRONG WINDS, BUT THAT MAY BE ENOUGH JUST TO SPIT OUT SOME OF THE MODELS. THE LAST COUPLE OF RUNS THAT I’VE SEEN JUST CONTINUE TO PUT AN ISOLATED SHOWER OR THUNDERSHOWER CHANCE IN OUR NORTHWEST COUNTIES HERE, AND THEN TRACKS EASTWARD. NOW THE FRONT GETS A LITTLE BIT CLOSER AND YOU CAN MAKE IT OUT HERE, BUT THERE’S NOT A LOT OF MOISTURE WITH IT BY THE TIME IT GETS IN HERE. AND THIS IS 830 THIS EVENING, BUT I CAN’T RULE OUT ISOLATED SHOWERS OR EVEN A LITTLE RUMBLE OF THUNDER. JUST KEEP IN MIND WHATEVER DOES DEVELOP IT WILL BE VERY QUICK. THE MESSAGE HERE IS THAT MOST OF YOU WILL STAY DRY. IT’S ALL ABOUT THOSE WARM TEMPERATURES FOR TODAY. SO YOUR NEWS EIGHT STORM TEAM FORECAST CALLS FOR CLOUDS TO INCREASE THIS MORNING. WE’RE LOOKING AT MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES TILL WE GET INTO THE LATE AFTERNOON HOURS. AND THEN WE’LL START TO SEE A LITTLE MORE SUNSHINE BREAKING THROUGH, TEMPERATURES TOPPING OUT IN THE LOW TO MID 80S. STILL QUITE WARM THIS EVENING WITH THAT ISOLATED SHOWER OR THUNDERSHOWER CHANCE WE’RE IN THE UPPER 70S AND THEN OVERNIGHT TONIGHT, MOSTLY CLOUDY, STILL MILD TEMPERATURES IN THE MID TO UPPER 50S. IT WILL BE BREEZY WITH WINDS OUT OF THE NORTHWEST 10 TO 15MPH. WE’LL CALL IT A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS. TOMORROW WE’LL SEE MORE SUN THAN CLOUDS AS OPPOSED TO TODAY. TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 60S TO NEAR 70 DEGREES WINDS OUT OF THE NORTH 10 TO 15. IN YOUR WEATHER AND HEALTH CHECK. I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT MY ALLERGIES ARE LIKE OUT OF OUT OF CONTROL. AND THAT’S BECAUSE TREE POLLEN CONTINUES TO RUN ON THE HIGH SIDE. AIR QUALITY IS ALSO MODERATE WITH THE PARTICULATES AND OZONE ELEVATED A BIT. UV INDEX WITH THE CLOUDS TODAY IS ON THE LOW SIDE. LOOKING OUTSIDE OUR YORK SKYCAM, YOU CAN SEE THE CLOUD COVER OVERHEAD, FLAGS STARTING TO BLOW A LITTLE BIT. TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW 53 IN LEBANON, BUT WE HAVE 68 IN CHAMBERSBURG, LEWISTOWN 70 DEGREES. AS I ZOOM OUT, YOU CAN SEE WHERE OUR COLD FRONT IS. IT’S 70 IN MEMPHIS RIGHT NOW, BUT KANSAS CITY SITTING AT 45. SO THAT’S WHAT THAT COOLER AIR THAT WILL MOVE IN HERE AS WE HEAD INTO SUNDAY. SPEAKING OF SUNDAY, CLOUDS AROUND IN THE EARLY PART OF THE DAY, HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING TO OUR NORTH WILL BRING SOME MORE SUNSHINE MIXING IN AND OUT OF THAT CLOUD COVER. AND THEN MONDAY MORNING A WARM FRONT APPROACHES COULD TRIGGER STRAY SHOWERS. IN THE MORNING. WE’RE DRY MOST OF THE DAY, THEN THE COLD. ANOTHER COLD FRONT COMES IN MONDAY EVENING AND THAT WILL TRIGGER A FEW SHOWERS ACROSS THE AREA. TEN DAY FORECAST SHOWS THAT WE’RE IN THE 60S FOR MONDAY AND THEN BACK INTO THE 70S WITH DRY WEATHER ALL THE WAY THROUGH THURSDAY, AND THEN SHOWER CHANCES RETUR

Most of the day is dry and breezy. Highs are feeling more like summer in the low to mid-80s. A slow-moving cold front approaches and may produce isolated showers or thundershowers during the late afternoon and early evening. Most of the moisture falls apart so a good part of the area remains dry. Easter is dry but with plenty of clouds early then more sunshine will mix in and out as the day goes on. It will be a pleasant day with more seasonable temperatures in the upper 60s. A warm front lifts towards the Valley Monday morning and could produce stray showers. Most of the day is dry with plenty of clouds around. Highs are in the mid to upper 60s. A cold front approaches in the evening bringing a better chance for showers which may linger into the overnight hours. Tuesday through Thursday we are back in the 70s, enjoying dry weather, and sunshine. Shower chances return Friday into the weekend. Cooler readings return at that time too.
